Privacy Policy for Escape Artist
Effective date: 13 October 2026
Escape Artist (“the game”) is published by Zero Horizon Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales.
This policy explains what information is collected when you play the game, who collects it, and what choices you have.
The short version
- The game has no accounts. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number.
- We do not run servers that store information about you.
- The game shows adverts. The advertising software inside the game, provided by Unity, collects some information from your device in order to show and measure adverts.
- Your game progress is saved on your device and, if you use it, in your own iCloud or Google account.
Information collected by the advertising software
The game uses Unity LevelPlay and Unity Ads (provided by Unity Technologies) to show adverts. This software collects the following directly from your device:
- Device identifiers: your device’s advertising identifier and an identifier Unity assigns to your installation of the game.
- Approximate location: country or region, worked out from your IP address. Your precise location is never collected.
- Advertising data: which adverts you were shown and whether you interacted with them.
- Usage data: how you interact with the game and its adverts, such as launches and taps.
- Purchase data: information about in-app purchases made in the game.
- Performance data: technical measurements such as how quickly the advertising software starts.
- Device information: such as device make and model, operating system, language, screen size and connection type.
This information is used to deliver adverts, limit how often you see the same advert, measure how adverts perform, prevent fraud, and improve the advertising service. Unity’s own privacy policy describes how it handles this information: https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy
Tracking and personalised adverts
On iPhone and iPad, the game asks for your permission before your device’s advertising identifier is used to track you across other companies’ apps and websites. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, the game still shows adverts, but they are not personalised using that identifier.
You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking on your device. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device’s Google settings.
Game progress
Your progress (vehicles, upgrades, currency, settings) is stored on your device. So that it survives reinstalling the game or moving to a new device, it is also saved to your own iCloud account on Apple devices, or your own Google Play Games account on Android devices where available. This data stays in your account. We cannot see or access it.
Purchases
In-app purchases are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive or store your payment card details. The store tells the game only whether a purchase succeeded, so the game can give you what you bought.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, health information or browsing history.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Legal basis and your rights
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, data protection law gives you rights over your personal data, including the right to access it, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, and to withdraw consent.
Advertising that relies on tracking is based on your consent, which you give or refuse through the tracking prompt and your device settings. Other processing by the advertising software, such as showing non-personalised adverts, measuring them and preventing fraud, is based on legitimate interests.
Because the information described above is held by Unity rather than by us, the quickest way to exercise these rights is through Unity’s privacy tools, described in its privacy policy. You can also contact us and we will help.
You have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.
International transfers
Unity may process information on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Unity describes the safeguards it uses for these transfers in its privacy policy.
How long information is kept
We do not keep personal information ourselves. Information collected by Unity is kept in line with Unity’s privacy policy. Your saved progress remains in your device and cloud account until you delete the game’s data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be noted in the game’s store listing or in the game itself.
